Now booking – One day Stained glass beginners workshop

This year has seen my skills in painting on glass starting to grow, with the invaluable support and skills advice of Dennis Eckersley of Design Lights, thank you so much Dennis. Painting on the glass plays with light coming through the glass, and with the colours, to add further dimensions and delights to stained glass windows. Have I mentioned how Stained glass is like magic, and eye candy for the soul.

I will be adding painting to commissions and continue to practise and play with this in wee free moments.

I am running stained glass beginners workshops, roughly once a month on a Saturday. Below in Slide Show, are some of the students and pieces they have made from the One day workshops and the Courses.

Due to commissions and other commitments, I am not running the Introduction to Copper Foiling workshops for a short while.

The daytime 8 week course will continue to run, I love to watch people progress and confidence grow in these workshops, along with all the friendships and wonderful design ideas and concepts. Both courses are full in January through to March. Please do contact me to add you name to the list of interested people and I will let you know when places become available.

Christmas Sparkling Glass Treats

Christmas decoration Workshop in Copper Foiling

Being the First of November,  I feel it is almost safe to mention Christmas?

I hope so, as here are – Creative fun Christmas workshops in copper foiling. Come and learn the craft and make a shiny decoration to take home.

November Saturday 19th – One day Copper Foiling workshop, with Christmas themed patterns and glass. Make a holly decoration and another piece of your choice. All materials, lovely shiny glass, tools and lots of cups of tea/coffee and biscuits included. Cost £115               Follow the link in red above for more information and booking. 

November 10th – Copper Foiling short evening course. One space left on this 4 evening course, held on 4 consecutive Thursday evening, starting on Thursday 10th Nov. Discover copper foiling, learn all the skills and create your own decorations or sun-catchers (patterns available and lots of support and guidance). All materials, lovely shiny glass, tools and lots of tea, coffee and biscuits included. Cost £180   Follow the link above in red for more information and booking.

Tuesday 22nd November. A one off weekday Stained glass for beginners workshop, not quite a Christmas themed workshop. I am teaching two people and there is opportunity for another person to join us and have a fun day creating a small stained glass panel, in this new workshop. All materials, tools, teas and coffees and biscuits included. Cost £155.00    If you are interested please contact me.

New Year 2021 – wishing for creative fun

 New Year workshops dates starting in February 2021 

Novembers workshops were postponed, most people have had their workshops re-scheduled to February and March 2021, but there is still plenty of places for people to book onto or buy as Christmas gifts. 

I do have one space on the Introduction to Copper Foiling workshop on the 12th December, which has a Christmas theme, do contact me for more info.  (this workshop has been limited to two spaces only)

Christmas Gifts and AWOL ICE

Christmas Gift experiences in Stained glass and ICE at AWOL Studios, Hope Mill Ancoats.

With the importance of less waste and changing the way we consume goods, being at the forefront of our minds, buying less ‘stuff’ and locally is the thing to do now.  I don’t feel too bad saying please buy local from makers and artists this Christmas. There is a host of exciting workshop experiences out there, where one takes home not only a beautiful creation but a lovely memory that lasts.

The workshops I run are based at AWOL Studio’s in Hope Mill Ancoats Manchester, where a few of us Artists who teach and run workshops have pulled together to create ‘ICE’, ‘independent Creative Educators’. “We offer unique creative experiences in a Unique Grade 2* listed venue – Hope Mill. So far we you can try, drawing, painting, crafts, photography, stained glass with other culturally creative activities coming soon. We are are group of artists who are proud to embrace the independent spirit of a creative Manchester.

New Stained Glass courses for 2020

Stained glass courses and workshops in Manchester – New dates for 2020

Come and learn a new skill and create your own stained glass panels. During the short winter months be up-lifted by the beauty and colour of glass,  whilst learning how to design your own pattern, cut and lead glass and solder the panel.

Courses are 9 weeks long on a Monday evening or a Wednesday morning, with only 4 people giving plenty of quality time with the tutor, that’s me.

There are also workshops held on the weekends, Stained glass for beginners and Introduction to Copper Foiling.

Have a look at the slide show to see some work in progress and previous stained glass made during courses. Some is made by people who have returned for a second course. The courses are also suitable for beginners with no previous experience, just a willingness to have ago.
