Spaces on the October, November and December workshops
Have fun on a friendly workshop and try your hand at the Copper Foiling technique and create lovely colourful glass sun-catchers or Christmas decorations (on the November and December dates).
On the 11th May the Wednesday morning stained glass 8 week course starts. It is suitable for beginners and those with experience alike, where you can develop your own project under the guidance of the tutor.
It is a small class, now going back to 4 people, which still allows for lots of support and time with the tutor, that’s me. It is good to be on a course with others, as well as the nice company and chatter, one has the benefit of hearing and sharing lots of creative ideas, I often been inspired by the design ideas of students. Quite often I’d like to keep their work too! (but of course everyone does take their lovely finished panels home 🙂
The studio is in Hope Mill, a grade two listed building and part of the AWOL STUDIOS, in Ancoats. It less than 5 minutes from New Islington tram stop, which is one stop form Manchester Piccadilly and has a big car park.
I think my studio is a friendly place, always lots of tea, coffee, herb tea and yummy biscuits and chocolates, it’s a given it helps the creative process.

A new Short Thursday Evening Course in Copper Foiling
It was great to get going again in late May, teaching three people at a time in Workshops. There is nothing quite like meeting folk face to face to create with glass.
I am still keeping all workshops to three people attending to keep us safe. But it is good to be back in an ‘almost regular’ swing of things.
The new dates for workshops and courses for this Autumn are filling up much quicker than I expected. I think people are keen in a safe way to get out and about again. A bit of creative play and making with colourful glass is so good for the soul.
I am running a new short evening course in Copper Foiling 4 weekly sessions on a Thursday 6pm – 8.30pm, suitable for beginners and those with experience. There currently is one place on the course starting on Thursday 30th September and two places on the course starting on 18th November. Do contact me if you are interested and find more information here.
Here is the summer work starting from when we could open in May in pictures, in no particular order:
If you would like to be kept informed of new dates for workshops and courses please do contact me and I will add you to the emailing list.
New Year workshops dates starting in February 2021
Novembers workshops were postponed, most people have had their workshops re-scheduled to February and March 2021, but there is still plenty of places for people to book onto or buy as Christmas gifts.
I do have one space on the Introduction to Copper Foiling workshop on the 12th December, which has a Christmas theme, do contact me for more info. (this workshop has been limited to two spaces only)
In the meantime I am having some fun creating a stained glass honey-comb with the Manchester bee design, along with a few Christmas decorations. I’m especially enjoying the iridescent glass!
Stained glass and Copper Foiling NEW DATES are ready to roll!Â
Under the mask I am very happy to be teaching again.
Hot colours palate ready for a commission for friends birthday
Bud commission on the go
Having nearly run all the postponed workshops (due to Covid-19) I now have new dates for workshops in November and December. I am limiting class size to 3 people attending, we will be wearing masks, which has worked well for the postponed workshops. Other than demonstrations people will have a bench each to create at.
I aim to run evening classes again in the New Year 2021.
I am trialling a short copper foiling course of 3 or 4 weeks, running either daytime or evening. Previous students on the mailing list have filled one already. If you are interested in this type of short course please do contact me.
